Portland, Ore. – February 6th, 2013 Viewpoint Construction Software announced today the acquisition of project and BIM (Building Information Modeling) collaboration software provider, 4Projects. The UK-based company has 61 employees who will join the Viewpoint team and over 40,000 unique monthly users employing its award-winning software. 4Project’s product portfolio will become available in Viewpoint’s existing markets in the US, Canada and Australia and provide the opportunity for Viewpoint’s products to reach across software architectures, including on-premise, multi-tenant cloud and mobile to enable delivery of the right functionality on the right platform optimizing the end user experience. Diverse project stakeholders and geographically dispersed construction team members can use 4Projects’ web-oriented, multitenant cloud-based product to access project related information including the ability to manage, distribute, mark-up and audit drawings, submittals, RFI’s, issues and other construction and pre-construction documents.
Contemporary construction is defined by the collaboration of multiple stakeholders vested in a project’s timely completion and contractors are seeking efficient ways to keep various construction project stakeholders synchronized and informed on many factors during a project’s life cycle.
